Australia 138-3 at dinner break in day/night Test vs Windies
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Australia battled testing spells from West Indies bowlers to reach 138-3 at the dinner break in the historic day/night Test at Sabina Park on Saturday’s opening day.
Steve Smith is unbeaten on 36, while left-hander Travis Head is on three. Both are set to return to the middle after the interval when play resumes under floodlights.
Openers Sam Konstas (17) and Usman Khawaja (23) and number three Cameron Green (46) are the batsmen who have been dismissed.
Seamers Justin Greaves, Shamar Joseph and Jayden Seales have each taken one wicket on a grass-covered Sabina Park pitch which has produced ample sideways movement for the quicker bowlers.
West Indies made three changes with opener Mikyle Louis, left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican and debutant batsman Kevlon Anderson replacing Kraigg Brathwaite, Anderson Phillip and Keacy Carty.
The visitors made one change with pacer Scott Boland replacing off spinner Nathan Lyon.
Australia have a two-nil lead in the three-Test series.
